AENTOS Re-designs Shanghai Lane Store into a Slow-Living Fragrance Space with a Southern French Soul

Shanghai-based home fragrance brand AENTOS has quietly transformed its Jiaozhou Road store into a calm, sun-dappled “neighborhood shop,” blending the gentle aesthetics of the South of France with the tactile beauty of wood and ceramic.

Both founders, Sarah and Astrid, deeply involved in the redesign, personally selected three types of wood—cedar, Chinese elm, and cherry wood—as primary materials to reflect the brand’s DNA: a dedication to wood-based scent compositions. The space is framed with living plants and natural textures to evoke slowness and sensuality.

More than a retail store, the new AENTOS space offers a dual discovery ritual: customers are invited to explore scents on their own or join a guided scent tour that introduces AENTOS’s olfactory storytelling.

Each ceramic vessel and scent object was hand-picked from individual local artists, creating a curated environment where fragrance and craft meet.

Importantly, all AENTOS fragrances are IFRA-certified, adhering to the highest global safety and environmental standards—demonstrating the brand’s commitment to quality, transparency, and skin-safe formulations.

Once a month, the store transforms into a slow living workshop space, where AENTOS collaborates with local artisans—from paper makers to herbalists—to host mindful, tactile sessions. The brand affectionately calls its growing community of attendees the AENTOS SLOWIES.

This transformation marks a step forward in AENTOS’s mission to reshape modern retail into a place of emotional connection and sensory presence.
